St Govan’s Head

Things to do on the All Wales Path at St Govan’s Head

Named after the 6th century hermit who lived in a gap in the cliffs, St Govan’s Head is renowned for the 14th century Chapel below. Even those walkers on the coastal path who are attempting record times must surely allow time to visit this most evocative of old churches.

And who knows, the healing powers of Saint Govan’s Holy Well might cure all those blistered feet and aching joints. The Well lies 50 feet, 17m, to seaward of St Govan’s Chapel at the base of a rocky gorge.
