Things to do near Aberdaron beach

Things to do on the Wales Coast Path near Aberdaron beach.

Fancy sharing a beach with some dead Welsh people?

Well, I am exaggerating just to grab your attention! The graveyard of St Hywyn’s Church on the seafront at Aberdaron might well have fallen victim to the cruel sea in years gone by. But fortunately a new church-yard wall has protected both the church and the graveyard tombs from the battering of the Irish Sea.

Technically the graves are still on the hillside, not on the beach!

The numbers visiting Aberdaron beach in the summer months belie the fact that the beach is right on the “edge” of Wales, and, although Aberdaron beach may be a long way from “civilisation”, once there you are never far from all the amenities.

A pub with a restaurant stands on the beach, another pub with restaurant is over the road, and indeed the village square is just a few yards from the beach itself. It is such a beautiful location that you could understand how anyone would wish to spend eternity on Aberdaron beach.
