Things to do on the All Wales Path at Lligwy Beach

Lligwy Beach is a popular natural beach and very picturesque – a great place to walk on the All Wales Path. There are a few facilities in the privately owned car park alongside the beach, including toilets and beach kiosk, but these are seasonal.

Although this is a safe section of the path it was reported in 2011 that a gentleman found himself stuck in quick sand on the north end of Lligwy beach. I have not come across the quick sand myself but to be extra safe simply stick to the path that skirts the beach.

There is a lovely spot for a picnic at the north end of the beach, where the path crosses a small stream.

Of all the historic attractions alongside the Wales Coastal Path I would have to say Din Lligwy Iron Age settlement on the hillside above Lligwy beach is the most worthy of a diversion from the path. The Din Lligwy Iron Age Settlement is one of Wales’ most evocative historic monuments.
